Weldon Steel's structural steel fabrication is second to none in technology and quality. Our modern fabrication facility has over 100,000 square feet under crane way, and our fabrication shop is full of the latest fabrication equipment. We have two AWS Certified Welding Inspectors on site to ensure the highest quality welding practices are adhered to, and we utilize high quality Lincoln wire fed welding systems to aid our fabricators in producing the highest quality welds. From CNC drill lines and parts manufacturing to the scanning technology we use for material tracking and handling, we utilize the latest technology to ensure we are able to meet our customer's needs for schedule and quality structural fabrication of steel that fits the first time!

Detailing/Connection Design/BIM

Weldon Steel works with the best detailers in the business. We have developed a framework of detailing standards that are adhered to by all detailing subcontractors that ensures Weldon Steel offers high quality fabrication and erection drawings. All of our detailing is model based with full capacity to coordinate with our customers BIM needs. We can also provide connection design when required.

Project Delivery Methods

  • Design Bid Build: Currently, this is the most common method of project delivery, and Weldon Steel has many years of experience with this building process.
  • Design Build: Weldon Steel has years of experience in the Design Build method of building and we are able to provide Design Build packages when our customers require. Using this method allows Weldon Steel much greater input during the design phase and allows us to utilize the best practice methods for our shop and erectors to accomplish quality projects in a timely manner, often with cost saving that can be passed to our customers.
  • Design Assist: Weldon Steel has completed a number of Design Assist projects. This method allows us to add input in the project early and present value engineering ideas that can save the owner money and improve project schedule.
  • Integrated Project Delivery: Using this delivery method, all teams members work closely to develop the best design and construction methods to ensure the greatest value and coordination possible. This method often utilizes BIM technology and Weldon Steel has experience in these types of project delivery methods. Our team is fully capable of the high level of early coordination and cooperation required for the project delivery method.

LEED Tracking

LEED Certification and structural steel are a natural fit within our industry. The highly recycled nature of structural steel greatly assists contractors and owners in reaching LEED Certification goals. Weldon Steel is well versed in the necessary data collection and tracking required for LEED documentation. We utilize modern material management systems to provide our customers with the information necessary to accomplish their LEED goals.
